Join the Orioles in helping local families in need by supporting the Mayors' Feed the Hungry program. Drop off non-perishable food items at Ed Smith Stadium starting November 1. Then, on Friday, November 22, pitch in any time between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to help sort food collected from throughout the community.
A family day of free, fun, hands-on activities to celebrate "Any Given Child Sarasota," a program to expand arts education in Sarasota County schools. The event is being held in partnership with the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Sarasota County Schools and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
In a first for Sarasota's Ed Smith Stadium, the Orioles will present world-class skaters in "Ice on the Diamond - A Holiday Celebration," a dazzling, holiday-themed show on a specially engineered ice stage on the ballpark's main field. The stadium will be decked out for the holidays, creating a festive backdrop to this family-friendly event featuring top skaters and comedic actors who have performed for audiences around the world.
Suncoast Workforce and Goodwill Manasota are presenting this free event at Ed Smith Stadium to connect military veterans and their eligible family members to businesses who are hiring. Attendees also will learn about support services available to veterans. Refreshments and giveaways will be provided. The event is part of The Patterson Foundation's Legacy of Valor campaign.
Join Sarasota's home team at the 4th Annual OriolesREACH Birdland Golf Classic -- a day-long golf outing at the beautiful Laurel Oak Country Club to benefit the Miracle League of Manasota. Play along with current and former Orioles players and coaches, participate in a silent auction and enjoy a day of fun and relaxation as you help OriolesREACH assist deserving children in the area.
A day of free activities designed for the whole family to honor returning military veterans. The festivities will begin with a ceremony honoring veterans, then attendees will enjoy hands-on activities for the whole family. An exhibition softball game will take place on the Ed Smith Stadium main field featuring local veterans squaring off against Sarasota celebrities. Families can cap off a full day of fun with free concerts by Grammy Award-winning "America" and New York-based singer-songwriter Margaret Valentine. Part of The Patterson Foundation's Legacy of Valor campaign honoring veterans and their families, the event is in partnership with Booker High School, Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida, Goodwill Manasota and Sarasota Military Academy.
The Sarasota Orchestra's 65th season culminates in this family-friendly outdoor Pops concert, featuring guest artist Molly Cherryholmes, a five time Grammy-nominated violinist, vocalist and songwriter. The orchestra performs a narrated, musical version of Casey at the Bat and the thrilling Roundball Rock, Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas, John Williams' Star Wars, and Bernstein's West Side Story.
