SAN DIEGO -- The Padres have announced the staffs for their Minor League affiliates as well as the club's roving instructors for the 2009 season.

Randy Ready, who recently interviewed for the managerial opening in Seattle, returns to Portland for his second season with the Triple-A Portland Beavers.

In his first season, Ready led the Beavers to a 70-74 record and was named the Pacific Coast League's Best Manager Prospect by Baseball America in their annual Best Tools Survey.

Glenn Abbott enters his fourth season in the Padres organization and second as pitching coach at Portland. Max Venable returns as hitting coach for a second season, his fifth year in the Padres system overall. Wade Yamasaki makes the move from San Antonio to serve as athletic trainer in his 10th season in the Padres organization.

At Double-A San Antonio, Terry Kennedy takes over as manager after serving as the Missions' hitting coach in 2008.

The former All-Star catcher for the Padres previously managed the San Diego Surf Dawgs of the Golden Baseball League in 2005, earning Manager of the Year honors in the league's inaugural season. He also spent six seasons as a Minor League manager with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2004), Chicago Cubs (1997-99), Montreal Expos (1994) and St. Louis Cardinals (1993) organizations.

Steve Webber returns for his second season as pitching coach. Orv Franchuk takes over for Kennedy as hitting coach at San Antonio in his first season in the Padres organization. JoJo Tarantino moves from Fort Wayne to San Antonio to serve as athletic trainer in his seventh season with the Padres.

Carlos Lezcano returns for his third season as manager of Class A Lake Elsinore, after leading the Storm to back-to-back playoff appearances in the California League in 2007 and 2008.

Lezcano is joined by pitching coach Dave Rajsich, who joins the Storm after serving in the same position for short-season Class A Eugene in 2008. Shane Spencer returns for his second season as the Lake Elsinore hitting coach, while Will Sinon comes back for his third campaign as the Storm's athletic trainer and 12th in the Padres organization.

Doug Dascenzo returns for his third season as manager of the Class A Fort Wayne TinCaps in 2009. Dascenzo's Fort Wayne club posted a 71-69 record in 2008.

Pitching coach Tom Bradley returns for his second consecutive season, and third overall, as Fort Wayne's pitching coach. Tom Tornincasa returns for his second season as hitting coach while Ernesto Vega Jr. joins the TinCaps for his first season as athletic trainer after serving in the same role for the Arizona League Padres from 2007-08.

Class A Eugene is managed by Greg Riddoch, who returns to the Emeralds for his third season. Bronswell Patrick makes the move from Peoria to Eugene to serve as pitching coach in his second season in the Padres organization. Eric Peyton begins his first full season as hitting coach after taking over the position June 9. Nathan Stewart continues for a fourth season with the Padres as the Emeralds' athletic trainer.

Jose Flores returns for his second season as the manager for the rookie-level Peoria Padres in 2009, after leading the team to a 33-23 record last season. He is joined by first-time pitching coach Jimmy Jones. Bob Skube returns for his second season as hitting coach and his third season in the Padres system.

Evaristo Lantigua remains coordinator of Latin America instruction/field manager of the rookie-level Dominican Summer League Padres. Jose Amancio enters his second season as the DSL Padres pitching coach, while Carlos Hernandez will be in his first season in the same position. Jose Mateo and Christian Reyes return as coaches.

San Diego's Minor League roving instructors for 2009 will consist of field coordinator Tom Gamboa, pitching coordinator Mike Couchee, hitting coordinator Tony Muser, infield/baserunning coordinator Gary Jones, roving catching Instructor Duffy Dyer, strength and conditioning coordinator Dan Morrison, rehab coordinator Matt Neiberg and trainer coordinator Matt Wilson.
