D-Backs at the plate: Miguel Montero hit a two-run homer for the D-backs in the bottom of the seventh, and Mark Reynolds added two hits.

Padres at the plate: Non-roster catcher Eliezer Alfonzo hit a three-run homer and an RBI double, and Kevin Kouzmanoff had three doubles in four at-bats. Brett Dowdy hit a three-run double. Drew Macias added a solo homer in the ninth inning.
D-backs on the mound: Starter Jon Garland absorbed six runs on six hits in 2 1/3 innings.
Padres on the mound: Cha Seung Baek, projected as the No. 3 starter in the rotation, gave up one run on one hit with two strikeouts in three innings. Jae Kuk Ryu -- in the mix for a bullpen job -- had the bases loaded with one out in the fourth, but forced Chris Snyder into a double-play grounder.
Cactus League records: Padres 3-6, D-backs 4-6
Up next: The D-Backs will travel to meet the Dodgers at Glendale, Ariz., with No. 1 starter Brandon Webb starting.
The Padres are off Tuesday, but will face Team Korea in a World Baseball Classic exhibition at 7:05 p.m. PT on Wednesday in Peoria. Kevin Correia is scheduled to start, and figures to work anywhere from three to four innings as he continues to try and lock down a spot in the starting rotation.
