Giants at the plate: Travis Ishikawa started the scoring for the Giants with a solo homer off Padres reliever Jae Kuk Ryu in the fourth inning. Catching prospect Buster Posey came on late in the ninth to hit his first spring homer in a Giants uniform, a two-run shot to bring San Francisco within four.

Padres at the plate: Nick Hundley hit a two-run double off Giants starter Matt Cain in the fourth and Chase Headley followed with a two-run double in the fifth. Kyle Blanks hit his third spring homer in the seventh, a two-run shot.
Giants on the mound: Matt Cain struggled in his second spring loss, allowing five earned runs on seven hits over 4 1/3 innings. Cain had his fastball working, though, striking out seven batters. Prospect Madison Bumgarner pitched an inning of scoreless relief. Padres on the mound: Starting pitcher Cesar Ramos rebounded from his last outing, striking out two batters and allowing four hits over three scoreless innings. Walter Silva pitched two scoreless innings in relief.Cactus League records: Padres 4-8-3; Giants 8-10.
Up next: The Padres travel to Surprise on Sunday for a 1:05 p.m. PT game against the Rangers. Starting pitcher Wade LeBlanc, who has an outside chance of winning a job in the starting rotation, enters the game with a 9.00 ERA in two appearances this spring. LeBlanc and Nick Schmidt are each scheduled to go three innings.The Giants are back home in Scottsdale on Sunday to take on the Royals at 1:05 p.m. PT. Lefty Barry Zito will make his fourth start of the spring for San Francisco.
