It will be the third All-Star Game for Layne (1994, 2001) and the first for Guccione, Hickox, Iassogna and Wendelstedt.
The official scorers for the game will be USA Today's Bob Nightengale, who is also chairperson of the Arizona chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America; BBWAA president Ken Davidoff of Newsday; and Gary Rausch, veteran MLB official scorer for Arizona Diamondbacks games. Rodney Johnson, another veteran MLB official scorer of D-backs games, will serve as the official scorer for the XM All-Star Futures Game on Sunday, July 10.
Ben May will work behind home plate for the Futures Game, with Will Little of the Southern League at first base, Jimmy Volpi of the Texas League at second and Scott Mahoney of the Eastern League at third.
All four umpires have also been assigned to work the State Farm Home Run Derby on Gatorade All-Star Workout Day on Monday, July 11, while Mahoney and Volpi will also work Sunday's Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game.
