SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The San Diego Padres today announced they have placed outfielder Jeremy Hermida on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to April 27) with a strained left adductor and have recalled outfielder Blake Tekotte from Triple-A Tucson. Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes made the announcement.

Hermida, 28, has hit .250 (6-for-24) with one double, one triple, two RBI and two runs scored in 13 games for the Padres this season. He has made four starts for the Padres and last played April 26 vs. Washington, appearing as a pinch-hitter.

Tekotte, 24, made his Big League debut last year with the Padres and appeared in 11 games. Originally signed by San Diego as a third-round selection in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, he has hit .274 (462-for-1,687) with 98 doubles, 17 triples, 58 home runs, 222 RBI and 299 runs scored in 433 minor league games over parts of five seasons in the Padres organization.
