Verizon Wireless and the New York Mets team up to play ball with local youth
Mets fans invited to visit participating Verizon Wireless stores for chance to win a spot at Verizon Kid's Clinic at Citi Field on Aug. 4
NEW YORK (July 19, 2013) - Verizon Wireless, operator of America's largest 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, has partnered with the New York Mets to host the Verizon Kid's Clinic on Aug. 4 at Citi Field in Queens. The clinic will offer 60 local children the chance to take the field with their favorite players, learning the fundamentals of baseball while having fun. Verizon Wireless is committed to keeping New York Mets fans connected to their favorite team on and off the field this summer.
Beginning Saturday, July 20, through Saturday, July 27, Mets fans and parents can visit one of three participating Verizon Wireless stores in Astoria, Washington Heights and the Bronx to register their little ones ages 5 to 12 in a drawing to secure a spot at the clinic. Upon registering, fans will be invited to participate in live demonstrations of devices and accessories from Verizon Wireless and snap photos with Mr. Met and Mets alumni John Franco and Dwight "Doc" Gooden. All fans can grab a complimentary bite from the Munchie Mobile Food Truck and walk away with a handful of other prizes, including a Verizon Wireless goodie bag with a Mets baseball.

"No other sport has the power to connect fans, family and friends quite like baseball, so it's only fitting that Verizon would team up with the New York Mets to create the ultimate major league experience for kids," said Karen Hadley, Associate Director of Verizon sponsorships. "The Mets have a longstanding history of giving back to and connecting with the New York community and Verizon is thrilled to offer a potential future Mets the opportunity to train with their favorite players this summer at the Verizon Kid's Clinic at Citi Field."
Twenty kids from each registration event will be randomly selected to attend the Verizon Kid's Clinic at Citi Field. The clinic begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, and connects 60 winning youths with Mets players and coaches to train, run drills and experience first-hand what it's like to play in the big leagues. Winners will be also awarded their own "Future Met" t-shirts and two tickets to the Mets game later that afternoon against the Kansas City Royals.

Parents must sign an affidavit and release form before registering each child for the clinic. Registration is open to residents of New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. Winners will be selected and notified no later than July 30th,. No purchase necessary to enter.
