He threw 56 pitches, 40 for strikes. Clayton Mortensen tossed 5.0 scoreless innings in relief, striking out six. Brett Eibner was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs. Johnny Giavotella added three hits, raising his average to .299 (46-for-154).

Andy Ferguson, a native of Arkansas, struck out six while scattering five hits and two walks over 6.0 innings. Noel Arguelles fanned two in a 1-2-3 seventh.

Wilmington scored nine runs in the fifth en route to a 10-4 win. Michael Antonio and Mark Donato hit back-to-back homers, with Antonio's blast a three-run shot. The inning also included a two-run single by seventh-ranked Royals prospect Bubba Starling and an RBI double by Hunter Dozier, who is ranked sixth. Donato and 16th-ranked prospect Zane Evans had three hits apiece. Dozier added a solo homer, finishing with two hits, two RBI and two runs.
