Indians outfielder Ezequiel Carerra picked up a couple hits for Magallanes, while A's product Darwin Perez scored both of the team's runs. Matt Palmer, who pitched with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate this season, threw five scoreless innings to earn the win. Right-hander Josh Schmidt, who pitched in the Marlins system in 2012, allowed one unearned run in 6 1/3 innings and took the loss. Box score

Rico Noel, from the Padres system, had two hits, one home run and two RBIs for Caracas. Chad Huffman, who played for St. Louis' Triple-A affiliate, picked up two hits. Belting his first home runs of the season, Kalian Sams hit a three-run bomb in the fourth inning and followed that up with a solo blast in the eighth. Guasave was also led by starter Josh Geer, who held the opponents to five hits in 6 1/3 innings for his first win of the season. Box score

In the first game of a doubleheader, Abel Martinez hit a game-winning double with two out in the bottom of the seventh, scoring Kraig Binick from first base. Misael Valenzuela got the win after pitching a scoreless seventh frame. Box score

In the second game of the doubleheader, Culiacan had a late-inning rally. Ronnier Mustelier hit a two-run RBI single in the seventh that gave Culiacan the lead. Mustelier had three RBIs, while teammate Maxwell Leon had two hits. Box score
