    The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) will support Progress California's 11th annual Turkey Giveaway and Health Fair at the Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy in Compton on Tuesday, November 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  • John Shoemaker Named Mike Coolbaugh Award Winner

    Minor League Baseball announced today it has selected longtime Los Angeles Dodgers Minor League Manager John Shoemaker as the recipient of the eighth annual Mike Coolbaugh Award. The award was created by Minor League Baseball in 2008 to honor the late Mike Coolbaugh, a long-time professional baseball player and coach. Mike spent parts of two seasons playing in the Major Leagues and parts of nearly 20 seasons with Minor League Baseball teams, including separate stints in the Texas League as a player and coach. The Mike Coolbaugh Award is presented annually to an individual who has shown outstanding baseball work ethic, knowledge of the game and skill in mentoring young players on the field. Shoemaker will receive his award at the Baseball Winter Meetings Banquet on Sunday, Dec. 6, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Dodgers Present 11th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway Thursday

    The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF), in partnership with Ralphs/Food 4 Less, will host the 11th annual Community Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway at Dodger Stadium Thursday, November 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Dodger special guests will be in attendance. Dodger Alumni League members Ron Cey, Al "The Bull" Ferrara, Matt Luke, Dennis Powell and Derrel Thomas will be on hand to help distribute a complimentary turkey, fixings and reusable canvas bags to 1,200 pre-selected families and not-for-profit community organizations who will in turn distribute them to Los Angeles area families in need.

    The Dodgers will play host to approximately 300 pre-selected active duty service members of our nation's Armed Forces representing the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard along with veterans and their families for batting practice at Dodger Stadium Wednesday, November 18 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in honor of Veterans Day.
