Padres name Alex Montoya Director, Latino Affairs
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Padres today named Alex Montoya Director, Latino Affairs. Executive Vice President/Communications Jeff Overton made the announcement.

"The Latino community on both sides of the border is a huge part of the San Diego Padres fan base," said Overton. "With the addition of Alex, we hope to not only continue with that relationship, but to develop it to exciting new levels."

Montoya joins the Padres front office after spending the previous seven years with the San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the last one as the Chamber's Director of Communications. Since 1999 Montoya has also served as a Guest Services Representative for Padres home games first at Qualcomm Stadium and now at PETCO Park.

The 31-year old Montoya also has previous experience in public relations include serving as coordinator for the Access Center Inc., a San Diego non-profit organization, as well as working for the public relations agencies the Pacific Gateway Group and Nuffer, Smith, Tucker Communications.

A native of Medellin, Colombia, Montoya holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Notre Dame.
