SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Padres today announced that Warren Miller has been hired as the team's director of media relations following a nationwide search. Padres Executive Vice President for Business Operations Jeff Overton made the announcement.

"Warren has an excellent track record and reputation within Major League baseball," said Overton. "Given his experience with two other clubs and in collegiate athletics, we fully expect him to hit the ground running and immediately become an asset to the Padres."

Most recently Miller served as the assistant director of baseball information for the Seattle Mariners. His experience includes seven seasons with the Houston Astros, the last five as the director of media relations. Miller also worked in media relations and sports information for Texas Tech University, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Duke University and West Georgia College.

The Dixon, Kentucky native received a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Miller will start later this week, initially working out of the Padres Spring Training site in Peoria, Ariz.
