SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Padres today reinstated left-handed pitcher Justin Hampson from the 15-day disabled list and outrighted left-hander Sean Henn to Triple-A Portland. Executive Vice President/General Manager Kevin Towers made the announcement.

Hampson, 28, has been on the disabled list since March 26 (retroactive to March 21) with left shoulder tendinitis. In a rehabilitation assignment with Single-A Lake Elsinore, he tossed 6.0 scoreless innings with four strikeouts over five relief outings. Claimed off waivers by San Diego from Colorado on October 11, 2006, Hampson is 3-3 with a 3.58 ERA (26 ER/65.1 IP), 43 strikeouts and 21 walks over 44 career Major League appearances (one start) with the Rockies (2006) and Padres (2007).

The 27-year-old Henn has posted a 7.71 ERA (8 ER/9.1 IP) in four relief appearances with the Padres since he was claimed off waivers from the New York Yankees on May 9. Prior to joining San Diego, he went 1-0 with a 0.84 ERA (1 ER/10.2 IP) in eight relief appearances this season between Single-A Tampa and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Originally selected by the Yankees in the 26th round of the 2000 First-Year Player Draft, Henn has made 40 Major League appearances (five starts) over parts of four seasons with the Yankees (2005-07) and Padres (2008), going 2-6 with a 7.56 ERA (56 ER/66.2 IP).
