SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today announced plans for Breakfast at the Park prior to the six remaining Sunday home games, beginning July 19. The special dining opportunity provides the chance to dine on the PETCO Park playing field.

Menu items have been specially-created by PETCO Park Executive Chef Eric Borgia for Breakfast at the Park. The items will be available along K Street in the Park at the Park and clubs and restaurants throughout the ballpark. Select items will be available in main concession stands for the six selected games.

The seating on the ballpark playing field will be available on a first come, first served basis. Entrance gates at the Park at the Park will open at 10:30 a.m. PDT, while other ballpark gates will open at 11:00 a.m. Fans will be allowed to sit and enjoy breakfast on the field until noon.

"San Diego is a 'breakfast town' and we want to take advantage of the unique asset of PETCO Park and the perfect San Diego weather to provide memorable experiences for our fans," said Padres President and COO Tom Garfinkel. "Fans will be able to sit on the field before the game and enjoy the signature breakfast food we've developed."

Breakfast at the Park will be offered for the following dates, all prior to Sunday home games: July 19; August 2, 9 and 23; September 13; and October 4. A game ticket is required for admittance to the ballpark and to participate in the breakfast.

Each of the a la carte offerings will cost $5 or $6 and include the following:

  • The breakfast bowl - a Southwest egg scramble, complete with buttermilk biscuit croutons, crumbed maple sausage and country sausage gravy, and topped with fresh chives
  • Bistro baguette - an egg sandwich with the choice of meat and cheese
  • Cinnamon rolls and fresh pastries - a large cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing
  • Fresh fruit
  • Blueberry muffin - a large muffin with fresh blueberries dipped in seared butter and topped with maple syrup, soaked walnuts and fresh whipped cream

Drinks will include fresh orange juice, just-brewed coffee, regular beverages, a special mix Bloody Mary, vodka lemonade and mimosas.

Breakfast at the Park extends the Padres tradition of providing unique fan opportunities surrounding games. The club was the first to offer a Father's Day catch on the field and among the first to provide the opportunity for children to run the bases following games. Earlier this year, the Padres began showing Cox/Channel 4 road game telecasts at the Park at The Park - the Major League's only public park with views of the field since Pittsburgh's Forbes Field closed in 1970.
