The San Diego Padres announced today the return of Away at the Park this Thursday, March 31, when fans are invited to PETCO Park to watch the team open their season at St. Louis at 1:15 p.m.

Fans are invited free-of-charge to Park at the Park to watch Cox/Channel 4 San Diego's broadcast on the video board on the back of the batter's eye. For Thursday, fans can park for free in the Padres' parking lots - D1/D2, Padres Parkade and Tailgate Park. Concession stands will be open Thursday with items for sale, including soda, bottled water, hot dogs, nachos, and ice cream novelties.

Away at the Park continues throughout the 2011 season for all Cox/Channel 4 San Diego televised road games, as well as select network televised road games (including FOX's broadcast of the second game at St. Louis, Saturday, April 2 at 1:10 p.m.). All elements of the public park remain intact during Away at the Park events, including the opportunity to bring leashed dogs into the area. Picnic Hill, the youth baseball field, "Beacher" area and the children's tot lot adjacent to J Street will all be available during Away at the Park, as well.
