Padres set Opening Day roster
Club recalls RHP Samuel Deduno; Places four on 15-day DL
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

The San Diego Padres today announced they have recalled right-handed pitcher Samuel Deduno from Triple-A Tucson. In addition, the club has placed pitchers Mat Latos and Joe Thatcher and infielders Kyle Blanks and Jarrett Hoffpauir on the 15-day disabled list. Executive Vice President/General Manager Jed Hoyer made the announcements.

All players on the disabled list are retroactive to March 22 with the following injuries: Mat Latos (strained right shoulder), Joe Thatcher (strained left shoulder), Kyle Blanks (recovering from Tommy John Surgery), Jarrett Hoffpauir (strained right quadriceps).

Deduno, 27, was claimed off waivers by the Padres from the Colorado Rockies on February 1. He appeared in six games for San Diego this Spring, going 0-1 with a 6.43 ERA (5 ER/7.0 IP), 12 strikeouts and four walks.
