The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that San Diego Padres Minor League outfielder Donavan Tate has received a 50-game suspension for a second-time positive test for a Drug of Abuse in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
Tate, who is currently on the roster of Eugene of the Single-A Northwest League, will be given credit for 25 games already served while undergoing substance abuse counseling. The 25 games that remain on Tate's suspension will be served effective immediately.
