The San Diego Padres and Kansas City Royals will play a two-game exhibition series — including one contest at Single-A affiliate Lake Elsinore — prior to the start of the 2012 regular season.

San Diego and Kansas City will play at 7:05 p.m. PT on Tuesday, April 3 at PETCO Park. Padres individual-game tickets, including the April 3 exhibition game, will be available on a date to be determined. Major League Baseball will release its full 2012 regular-season schedule later this month.

The two teams will play at Lake Elsinore on Wednesday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m. PT. The Storm have hosted the Padres four times in exhibition play, but this will mark the first game between two Major League teams at The Diamond. For more information regarding the Major League game in Lake Elsinore, call (951) 245-4487 or visit stormbaseball.com.

Lake Elsinore has been the Padres' Single-A affiliate in the California League since 2001. This season, the Storm clinched a berth in the Cal League playoffs for a franchise-record seventh consecutive year.
