Forsythe, Maybin limited during first full workout

PEORIA, Ariz. -- Not everyone was in good health on Saturday when the Padres held their first full-squad workout.

Center fielder Cameron Maybin (sore right wrist) and infielder Logan Forsythe (sore right knee) did not take part in most of the drills.

For Maybin, it's just another round with his balky wrist, one that has given him plenty of fits over his first two seasons with the team.

Maybin missed 10 days last July with soreness in his wrist, though it didn't require a stint on the disabled list.

"I think we've got it taken care of. We've just got to let it subside," he said. "Actually, it feels a lot better today than it has. We'll take a few days now instead of having to do it later."

Forsythe, who figures to get reps at second base, shortstop, third base and left field this spring, didn't seem to concerned about his right knee. He had it wrapped in ice in the morning but was walking on it without pain in the afternoon.

Forsythe missed a few starts in the final week of the 2012 regular season with soreness in his right knee.

Like Maybin, Forsythe thinks he'll be able to participate in full drills as early as Monday.
