Padres place RHP Tyson Ross on 15-day disabled list and recall RHP Thad Weber from Triple-A Tucson

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today announced that they have placed right-handed pitcher Tyson Ross on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 18, with a left shoulder subluxation and have recalled right-handed pitcher Thad Weber from Triple-A Tucson.  Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes made the announcement.

Ross, 25, has made three starts for the Padres so far this season, going 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA (6 ER/14.0 IP).  The right-hander was acquired this past offseason in a four-player trade with the Oakland Athletics.  Over parts of four Major League seasons with the Athletics (2010-12) and Padres (2013) he has gone 6-19 with a 5.20 ERA (94 ER/162.2 IP) with 114 strikeouts against 80 walks in 56 games, 24 starts.

Weber, 28, will be making his second stint with the Padres this season.  The right-hander appeared in one game so far for San Diego earlier this month.  In two starts for Triple-A Tucson, he has gone 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA (1 ER/11.0 IP) and 10 strikeouts against one walk.  Over parts of two Major League seasons with the Detroit Tigers (2012) and Padres (2013), he has gone 0-1 with a 7.04 ERA (6 ER/7.2 IP) in three relief appearances.
