Earlier today, RHP Nathan Eovaldi underwent his second "Tommy John" surgery, in addition to having his right flexor tendon repaired. The surgery was performed by Yankees Head Team Physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and went as expected.
"Alex was a hard worker, a genuine fan of the game and possessed great ability. In our time together, I always knew that the game mattered to him. Baseball teaches all of us at some point, and I think he should be proud of the way he carried himself these last two years. I wish Alex and his family all the best in the future."
Today it was announced that the College of Holy Cross Director of Athletics Nathan Pine and Fordham University Head Football Coach Andrew Breiner will throw out the ceremonial first pitches prior to Monday's 7:05 p.m. Yankees-Blue Jays game at Yankee Stadium.
