A day after clinching a playoff spot, the Pads secured home field for the NLDS, edging the D-Backs to win the NL West title. Trevor Hoffman overcame back-to-back homers in the ninth to earn his 46th save and preserve Woody Williams' 12th win. Adrian Gonzalez's four hits led the offense.
