Twins players J.J. Hardy, Justin Morneau, Joe Nathan, Nick Punto and Kevin Slowey unveil their personally designed jerseys, T-shirts and caps

MINNEAPOLIS -- During a press conference Thursday at Target Field, Minnesota Twins players J.J. Hardy, Justin Morneau, Joe Nathan, Nick Punto and Kevin Slowey unveiled the Players Choice Signature Series™ jerseys, T-shirts and caps they designed exclusively for their fans, with each product expressing their unique personalities and attitudes.

The Twins Players Choice Signature Series™ jerseys, T-shirts and caps will go on sale today at Minneapolis/St. Paul-area The Sports Authority locations, at Target Field during this evening's Twins game and online at MLB.com.

The players produced the products in a two-month design and manufacturing process with the Major League Baseball Players Association and its apparel licensees, VF/Majestic (jerseys and T-shirts) and Twins/Banner 47 (caps).

Players from the New York Yankees (Joba Chamberlain, Curtis Granderson, Andy Pettitte, C.C. Sabathia, Nick Swisher and Mark Teixeira), New York Mets (Jason Bay, Carlos Beltran, Jeff Francoeur, Jose Reyes and Johan Santana) and Philadelphia Phillies (Cole Hamels, Raul Ibanez, Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino and Jayson Werth) also designed jerseys, T-shirts and caps as part of the MLBPA's 2010 Players Choice Signature Series collection. The Yankees unveiled their designs on Wednesday, June 2, the Phillies on Friday, June 4, and the Mets on Wednesday, June 9.

The Signature Series product line made its debut in 2009, when Mets players designed items for sale in the MLBPA's Players Choice Clubhouse retail store located at Citi Field. The overwhelming success of that program led the MLBPA to expand it in 2010.

The Major League Baseball Players Association (www.MLBPLAYERS.com) is the collective bargaining representative for all professional baseball players of the 30 Major League Baseball teams and serves as the exclusive group licensing agent for commercial and licensing activities involving active Major League baseball players. On behalf of its members, it operates the Players Choice licensing program and the Players Choice Awards, which benefit the needy through the Major League Baseball Players Trust, a charitable foundation established and run entirely by Major League baseball players.
