Andrew McCutchen has been named the 2013 National League Most Valuable Player by the Baseball Writers Association of America.

McCutchen spent 2013 as a force in all facets of the game, batting .317 with a .380 on-base percentage and .489 slugging percentage, 21 home runs, 84 RBI, 27 stolen bases and 97 runs scored. For his efforts he was also named a Silver Slugger Award winner and a nominee for a Gold Glove Award.

McCutchen is the sixth Pirate to win the MVP award since it was created in 1931 (Pittsburgh's Paul Waner received the NL MVP Citation in 1927) and the first Pittsburgh MVP since Barry Bonds in 1992.
