Charity Ticket Programs
Charity Ticket Programs The Padres Charity Ticket Program provides complimentary tickets to non-profit organizations that serve disadvantaged children who would otherwise not be able to attend a baseball game. The Padres team up with our players, corporate partners: Nokia, ViaSat, and Wells Fargo, as well as Major League Baseball's "Commissioner's Initiative," to donate complimentary tickets to deserving non-profit organizations.

The Padres provide more than 80,000 tickets to over 250 deserving groups, including after-school clubs, inner-city youth recreation programs, education and literacy projects, shelters and other culturally diverse youth organizations - all who focus their efforts on helping the youth of San Diego LIVE, LEARN and PLAY. If you represent a non-profit children's organization and would like to request charity tickets or explore fundraising opportunities, please fill out the Charity Ticket Program Request Form »

Community Appearances
Rarely does a day go by when at least one member of the Padres family - including front office executives and staff, coaches, players, alumni and the Swinging Friar mascot and Pad Squad - cannot be found reaching out to fans somewhere in the San Diego/Baja region.

• Speakers Bureau
Randy Jones The club's Speakers Bureau is an important part of the Padres on-going community outreach effort. If your community organization is looking for a speaker to talk about the Padres at a future meeting or group function, please fill out and submit a Request Form >>

• Swinging Friar and the "Pad Squad"
Swinging Friar Established in 1996, the Pad Squad (pronounced like "Mod Squad") serves as the team's "front-line ambassadors." Best known for interacting with fans at games, the group also serves a vital role in representing the club at various civic functions, parades, and community events. Together, with the beloved Swinging Friar mascot, the Pad Squad annually makes more than 100 appearances in addition to the 81 home games at PETCO Park each season.

If you have a major community event that you would like to be considered for a visit by the Pad Squad and Friar, please complete the online request form.

• Player Appearances
Player Appearances Padres players make hundreds of appearances through club events, charitable initiatives, and through their own marketing relationships. For an updated list of upcoming player appearances open to the public, please call the Player Appearance Hotline at (619) 795-5275 (then select option #6).

Diverse Communities
Diverse Communities San Diego is a cosmopolitan, diverse and multicultural city, and the Padres are a regional franchise that reaches out to fans and families of all ages, on both sides of the border. Our region's diversity and heritage are celebrated regularly at PETCO Park:
  • Team of the Californias - Publications and radio/television programming are produced in English and Spanish, and the club is actively engaged in the Hispanic community on both sides of the border.
  • The club annually spotlights the legacy of both the Negro Leagues and Jackie Robinson in celebration of an important era in American baseball.

Employee Involvement
The Padres pride and involvement in the community is demonstrated by ownership, uniformed personnel and the Front Office. From serving seniors at Senior Community Centers, to personal contributions through the United Way, to sitting on charitable boards and volunteering for local charities, the Padres family is involved in making a difference.

PETCO Adoption Sundays
PETCO Adoption Sundays Every Sunday home game at PETCO Park is "PETCO Pet Adoption Day." PETCO and the Padres partner with local San Diego County animal shelters to feature a "Pet of the Week" at the ballpark in the hopes of finding it a loving home. On Sundays, fans can meet the Pet of the Week at the PETCO Pet Adoption booth set up in the "Power Alley" in right field adjacent to Park at the Park.

Go Green
Go Green The San Diego Padres and its contracted partners, in collaboration and cooperation with Major League Baseball and Federal, State and local governmental agencies, are committed to the development, implementation and execution of the Green Initiative for PETCO Park. The Green Initiative is a comprehensive, proactive plan to save energy, encourage fans to recycle, and manage waste, including the recycling of landscape and food waste. The goal is to operate the ballpark and its ancillary facilities in an environmentally friendly manner unequaled by any other facility of its type.
