 Josh Bard |
 |
Josh Bard hosted approximately 900 Special Olympics athletes from both the San Diego and North County chapters to a Padres game during the 2007 season. Bard is an ambassador for the San Diego City and County Public Libraries promoting literacy and summer reading programs. Josh also actively supports men and women serving in the Armed Forces by participating in several military-themed events in the San Diego community.

 Bud Black |
 |
Padres skipper Bud Black and wife Nan, a pediatric nurse, actively support Rady Children's Hospital. Black participated in their "Celebration of Champions" event on Saturday, May 12, 2007 to benefit the pediatric cancer care unit and then hosted over 400 children and families from the event to the ballgame that night. Black is also the honorary chair of the 65 Roses Golf Tournament to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

 Mike Cameron |

Mike Cameron was the Honorary Chair of the STAR/PAL "Superheroes for Youth Celebrity Luncheon" on Friday, April 27th, 2007. Cameron is an ambassador for the San Diego Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, greeting children suffering from life-threatening illnesses during a magical day at PETCO Park each month during the baseball season. He has also participated in several community appearances including the Shea Homes Read with a Pro Program, the 2nd Annual Padres/Miller Lite Celebrity Pour to benefit the Padres Foundation, and a baseball clinic at the MLB Urban Baseball Academy.

 Brian Giles |

San Diego native Brian Giles has hosted over 100 children with life-threatening diseases since he was traded to the Padres in 2003. Each month, Brian hosts children from Rady Children's Hospital to a VIP Day at PETCO Park which includes a limo ride from the hospital, a meet and greet with Brian and his teammates during batting practice, a behind-the-scenes tour of PETCO Park, and then watching the Padres game from Brian's personal ballpark suite. Giles was the 2004 winner of the Chairman's Award, presented annually to the player that best personifies the philanthropic spirit of Padres Chairman John Moores and his family.

 Adrian Gonzalez |

Hometown hero Adrian Gonzalez supports Eastlake High School's baseball program (his alma mater), as well as an annual golf tournament with local TV personality Jim Stone to benefit the South Bay Family YMCA. As an ambassador for the San Diego Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Adrian greets children suffering from life-threatening illnesses during a magical day at PETCO Park each month during the baseball season. Gonzalez is also a celebrity spokesperson for Big Brothers Big Sisters and participated in a public service announcement in both English and Spanish.

 Trevor Hoffman |

Trevor and Tracy Hoffman provide their five dugout seats to over 45 games to various charities and deserving individuals each season. These exclusive seats go to "Trevor's Kidney Kids," (local kidney patients, since Trevor lost a kidney as an infant), injured military service men and women and their families, teachers (Trevor's mother was a substitute teacher), as well as other special guests and charities. Trevor also visits Children's Hospitals in other cities when the team is on the road, often bringing along some of his teammates. Hoffman was the 1999 winner of the Chairman's Award, presented annually to the player that best personifies the philanthropic spirit of Padres Chairman John Moores and his family, has been a 5-time local nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award for outstanding community service, and received the prestigious Hutch Award in 2004.

 Greg Maddux |
 |
Greg & Kathy Maddux are providing 1,500 tickets and food vouchers to host children from local charities to a Padres game during the 2007 season. Greg and Kathy have a long history of philanthropy - they established the Maddux Foundation to help support charities in their hometown of Las Vegas and the cities where Greg plays baseball. The primary focus is children's charities, such as Boys and Girls Club, Candlelighters for childhood cancer, Safe Nest (domestic crisis shelter) and Child Haven. They host a celebrity golf tournament every year in Las Vegas.

 Cla Meredith |
 |
Cla Meredith supports the Burn Institute, a non-profit health agency dedicated to reducing burn injuries and deaths through fire and burn prevention education, burn survivor support programs and the funding of burn care research and treatment. Meredith has been an active participant at military events in the San Diego community, visiting military personnel at Balboa Naval Hospital and the VA Hospital. Cla also participated in the 2nd Annual Padres/Miller Lite Celebrity Pour to benefit the Padres Foundation.

 Jake Peavy |

Over 1,800 children from STAR/PAL and other inner-city recreation centers that participated in the Padres Youth Baseball Clinics will attend a game at PETCO Park as part of Jake Peavy's charity ticket program. Jake has also participated in Rady Children's Hospital's "Celebration of Champions" event, which benefits their pediatric cancer care unit, since 2003. Jake actively supports the men and women serving in the Armed Forces, appearing at four local military bases (MCAS Camp Pendleton, MCAS Miramar, NAS 32nd Street and NAS North Island) to sign autographs. Jake also annually donates $10,000 to Barry Zito's Strikeout for Troops Foundation, which provides injured US Soldiers with support during their recovery. During the off season, Peavy hosted and mentored 30 boys at a complimentary five-day leadership camp in Mobile, Alabama called Team Focus. The goal of the camp is to provide guidance in the lives of the young fatherless men, ages 10 to 17. Peavy was the 2006 winner of the Chairman's Award, presented annually to the player that best personifies the philanthropic spirit of Padres Chairman John Moores and his family.

 Chris Young |

Princeton graduate Chris Young promotes the value of education to young fans through his involvement in two initiatives. He is the player spokesman of the Padres Scholar's program in which he coordinates and encourages the players’ continued involvement in this cornerstone program – and even surprised two of the new Scholars by showing up at their school to present them with their acceptance letters in front of their classmates. Chris and his wife Liz have also teamed up with the San Diego County Office of Education, Nike, and Target on a Back to School event for 120 underprivileged kids in which Chris will discuss the importance of staying in school and studying hard, and will distribute backpacks with school supplies to each of the kids.

 Randy Jones |

Padres Hall of Famer and 1976 Cy Young Award Winner Randy Jones makes scores of appearances annually for the club, including youth baseball clinics and to local service organizations. Jones also serves on the board for Cystic Fibrosis, The Burn Institute, and Helen Woodward Animal Center.
