Padres Science of Baseball presented by Cymer

In partnership with Cymer and with the support of SDG&E's "Going to Bat for San Diego" initiative, the Padres Science of Baseball provides a mechanism by which middle school students can improve their academic performance through fun and engaging lesson plans which promote the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) learning. The three videos below highlight how STEM principles are realized on the diamond:

Teacher Appreciation Night

Since 2001, the Padres annually honor exceptional San Diego County school teachers at Petco Park. The club provides special discounts to the region's primary and secondary teachers, pays tribute to the San Diego County District Teachers of the Year and the reigning County Teachers of the Year. Dominican Republic

As an extension of the club's $8.3 million investment in a state-of-the-art baseball facility in the Dominican Republic, the Padres have established a visible presence in improving the schools and educational opportunities for children in the nearby town of Najayo, with other academic and health initiatives being planned for implementation.
