The San Diego Padres are pleased to announce the inaugural Hispanic Heritage Comunidad Awards! These awards were established to recognize and pay tribute to individuals or organizations whose work makes a positive impact on those who live and work in the Hispanic community. In support of the Padres Foundation community vision, three (3) awards will be given throughout the year, one each in the areas of children's health (LIVE), education (LEARN) and youth baseball/ softball and fitness (PLAY).
The Padres are seeking nominations of individuals or organizations who display leadership in strengthening and improving our region's Hispanic community. Three (3) distinct nomination and recognition periods are outlined below:
April 19 - 30, 2012
Nominations will be accepted for individuals or organizations whose emphasis is in the area of children's health. The winning individual or organization will be honored on the field before the Padres home game on Friday, May 4, 2012.
April 23 - June 4, 2012
Nominations will be accepted for individuals or organizations whose emphasis is in the area of children's education. The winning individual or organization will be honored on the field before the Padres home game on Sunday, July 6, 2012.
June 25 - August 1, 2012
Nominations will be accepted for individuals or organizations whose emphasis is in the area of youth baseball/softball and youth fitness. The winning individual or organization will be honored on the field before the Padres home game on Friday, August 17, 2012.
All three San Diego Padres Hispanic Heritage Comunidad Award winners will be honored on the field before the Padres home game on Friday, September 28, 2012 as part of our Hispanic Heritage Night festivities.
